Trailer for Boardwalk Empire released today!

Today the trailer for Boardwalk Empire, the new show from Emmy award-winning Sopranos scribe Terence Winter, came out today and it is cause for much rejoicing and celebration. Once again HBO looks genuinely exciting (not that True Blood hasn't been great, but --) and even better the pilot episode is to be helmed by none other than Martin "Did you ever see what a Magnum would do to a woman's face" Scorsese himself!

Check out the trailer below. The show will feature inter alia Michael Kenneth Williams and Steve Buscemi, who delivers the best line of the pilot.

The show is about Atlantic City in the Prohibition and is based on a non-fiction book of the same name by Nelson Johnson.

The song featured in the pilot, in case you were wondering, is "Straight Up and Down" by the Brian Jonestown Massacre. And so far as I know (because I had to actually remember the name of the song after a Google search for "what song is in the new Boardwalk Empire trailer" turned up el zilcho) I'm the first person on the internet to have posted that little tidbit, so I'd just like to pat myself on the back for that. **pat** **pat**

Editorial Follow-up: So I just googled "Boardwalk Empire" and "Brian Jonestown Massacre" and discovered that I am merely one of the first dozen of people to have figured out the BJM song. First dude seems to have been some guy in France. Touche France.
